Putting one foot in front of the other…

Ouzel Falls HIkeDo you know that high energy feeling you get when you’re around water … well I had it yesterday at Wild Basin trailhead in Rocky Mountain National Park.  The Calypso Cascades and Ouzel Falls hike was amazing. The trail was parallel to the North St. Vrain River and each step of the way you could hear, feel and see the force of the river.

Families, little kids, old kids and teens were on the trail and enjoying the Colorado sunshine.

Plan to have your lunch at Ouzel Falls. There are rocks and logs and sunny outcroppings (just 200 yards or so further on the trail). Ouzel Falls Hike in RMNP

The falls are at 9500 ft elevation – very doable and worth the time and effort!Ouzel Falls Hike in RMNP

The trip down took only an hour with some stops for additional photos.
